Princess Diana first became a mom on June 21, 1982, when she and King Charles welcomed Prince William.
Two years later, they became parents again when they welcomed Prince Harry on September 15, 1984.
Until her death in 1997, Diana and her kids were photographed around the world, attending public engagements and enjoying family vacations.
In addition to becoming the “People’s Princess,” the late Princess Diana was a proud mom to her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. “I live for my sons,” Diana famously said of her kids, per People. “I would be lost without them.”
Diana first became a mom on June 21, 1982, when she and King Charles, then Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, welcomed Prince William. A little over two years later, they became parents again when they welcomed Prince Harry on September 15, 1984. “She smothered Harry and me in love,” William said in a 2017 interview with GQ. “Twenty years on I still feel the love she gave us and that is testament to her massive heart and her amazing ability to be a great mother.”
The late princess died in a car crash on August 31, 1997. Her memory lives on in her activism, her still replicated style, and her beloved sons, who are both now parents themselves. “I feel her presence in almost everything that I do now. Definitely more so in the last two years [since becoming a father]” Harry said in a 2022 interview with TODAY.
