The first Monday in May is nearly here again, and as we gear up to see which stars will hit the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala, there are quite a few figures who could end up making their debuts.
One of the most likely possibilities is none other than Meryl Streep. Right now, the three-time Oscar winner is celebrating the release of The Devil Wears Prada 2, and with her fashion-focused sequel finally in theaters, there couldn’t be a more fitting time for her to finally grace fashion’s biggest night with her presence. (She was previously supposed to attend, and serve as a co-chair, back in 2020, but the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.)

While it may be surprising that Streep has never attended the Met Gala, she’s not the only one. There are quite a few A-listers who have never been to the event, including Jennifer Aniston, Britney Spears, Adele, Dolly Parton, Mariah Carey—the list goes on.
