The 2026 Golden Globes winners are boosting an awards season full of Hollywood excellence.

Hosted by returning comedian Nikki Glaser, the Golden Globes ceremony is the latest awards show to clear a path toward the Oscars, with the group's film winners often going on to score follow-up nominations (and even wins) at the Academy Awards.

This year, major Golden Globes nominees with solid footing in the awards race overall include Timothée Chalamet (*Marty Supreme*), Ariana Grande (*Wicked: For Good*), Michael B. Jordan (*Sinners*), Jessie Buckley (*Hamnet*), and the *One Battle After Another* team (including Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, and Chase Infiniti).

Though the Globes are often a foreteller of which films and performances will be nominated at the Oscars, both of the Globes' 2025 Best Motion Picture winners in the dramatic (*The Brutalist)* and comedy/musical (*Emilia Pérez*) categories lost the Best Picture Oscar to *Anora* last year— though three acting winners Adrien Brody (*The Brutalist*), Zoe Saldaña (*Emilia Pérez*), and Kieran Culkin (*A Real Pain*) won both the Golden Globe and the Academy Award that year.

On the television side, popular shows like perennial contenders *The Bear*, *Hacks*, *Abbott Elementary*, and* Only Murders in the Building *again* *showed up among major categories, while new series such as *The Beast in Me*, *Pluribus*, and *The Pitt *made headway with nominations in key brackets, too.
