Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons added a controversial take on Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders’ finish in the 27-27 tie against the New York Giants, claiming Daniels may just have cost Dan Quinn his job.

T.J. Ward, former Denver Broncos safety and Super Bowl champion, took issue with it. He hit back at Parsons’ criticism of Daniels, but in a way that did not sit well with LeSean McCoy, one of his co-panelists on the “Speakeasy” show.

LeSean McCoy Defends Micah Parsons After T.J. Ward’s Criticism

Ward did not hold back with his comments on Tuesday night’s appearance on “Speakeasy,” where he took aim at Parsons for suggesting that Daniels could get Commanders head coach Dan Quinn fired following Washington’s overtime tie against the Giants.

Ward began by saying Parsons had enjoyed some good seasons in the NFL but had not achieved enough to speak so freely about other players.

“Keep it a buck, you ain’t done [expletive] in this league. You’ve had a couple good years, yeah, I give you that, but what have you done really in the NFL, bro?” Ward said.

“You have a main job to do, which is to play football,” Ward continued. “But you’re on the couch right now, and you’ve been doing this your whole career, which kills me.”

Parsons is currently recovering from a torn ACL. Ward felt that the Packers star should focus on getting back on the field and helping his team rather than publicly dissecting the mistakes of other players across the league.

Ward also warned Parsons that such comments could put a target on his back and invite other players to scrutinize him when he returns for Green Bay.

Soon after the clip was posted on X, McCoy checked Ward for the initial comments in his argument against Parsons, in which he stated that the Packers star hadn’t done anything significant in the league.

McCoy wrote, while quoting the clip, “Yooo, ain’t no way my boy said this, come on.” He also tagged Parsons. And to show how highly he rated the Packers’ defensive talent, the former Eagles running back invoked comparisons to Lawrence Taylor, the Hall of Fame linebacker.

“Micah Parsons in the LT conversations,” he added.

McCoy appeared to disagree with Ward largely for making small of Parsons’ achievements in the NFL. On the matter of the Giants-Commanders finish, McCoy blamed Daniels, like Parsons.

“Jayden Daniels! For you to be the type of quarterback you are, so successful, your rookie year went crazy. And playing this game of football since you’ve been a kid, you know this!” he said after the tie.

“Situation football, why can’t you take no sack and go down? What are you doing? Spike the ball! You got no timeouts! You’re the quarterback! Nobody else can stop the clock, no timeouts. The coach can’t do that!”

Washington got into field-goal range at the Giants’ 26-yard line, then ran Rachaad White for two yards to shorten the potential winning kick. But the Commanders allowed too much time to run before the next snap, and Daniels was stopped in bounds on the final play. Washington could not get lined up to spike the ball before overtime expired.

The Commanders are 1-3-1 and ranked 21st in PFN’s Offense Impact Score with a 73.1 grade through five games, while Daniels is 16th in PFN’s QB Impact Score with a 76.3 grade.

Parsons, meanwhile, hasn’t taken the field this season. He remains on the physically unable to perform list after reconstructive knee surgery. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said on Monday that the team is getting closer to clearing him to practice, though Parsons will need time to ramp up once he is cleared.
