It's crazy to me that athletes would even test this policy in 2026.
Montez Sweat, a defensive end for the Chicago Bears, has been hit with a suspension of two games without pay after being found in violation of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The 30-year-old Sweat will miss Chicago's Week 6 game at the Atlanta Falcons, as well as the Week 7 contest against the New England Patriots. He'll become eligible for reinstatement on Oct. 23. The suspension comes two days after Sweat's teammate and fellow defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo exited during the first half of the Bears' 31-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers due to a quad injury. He did not return to the game, and Chicago head coach Ben Johnson did not give a health update for Odeyingbo on Monday.

In the Bears' first five games, Sweat has tallied two sacks and seven tackles. In 2025, he led the team with 10 sacks.
This timing couldn't be worse for the Chicago Bears.
Montez Sweat is out for two games because of PEDs, Dayo Odeyingbo is going to potentially miss time due to his quad injury, and as a result, the Bears' pass rush is going to be completely duct-taped together against a Falcons team led by Michael Penix Jr. and the Patriots with Drake Maye at the helm.
Just horrible timing. But that's the National Football League, especially at this point in the season.
