Diff’rent Strokes actor Todd Bridges and his wife Bettijo B. Hirschi are separating after three years of marriage.

"After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate," Bridges shared in a statement to People on Wednesday, Jan. 14 "This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love and gratitude for the life we shared."

"I thank God for the time we’ve had together, the lessons we’ve learned, and the family we’ve built," he continued. "Even in this season of change, I trust He is guiding us both toward healing, peace, and new beginnings."

"I ask for privacy as we navigate this transition and continue to lift my former partner up in prayer, wishing them joy and fulfillment in the chapters ahead," Bridges added.

In December 2024, Hirschi revealed on The Tamron Hall Show that the couple first met in January 2022 after her friend set up a dating profile for her, and showed it to Bridges for “market research.”

Bridges proposed only six months after they met, with the pair marrying in an intimate wedding ceremony in Beverly Hills, Calif. in September 2022.

Before his marriage to Hirschi, Bridges was previously married to his first wife Dori from 1998 to 2012, and the former couple shares sonSpencir, 28, and daughter Bo, 29. Hirschi also has four children from a previous relationship.

Bridges is best known for his role as Willis Jackson on the sitcomDiff’rent Strokes from 1978 to 1985. His other TV credits include Fish, Everybody Hates Chris, World's Dumbest..., and Celebrity Big Brother.
