The 2026 award season is in its final stretch. Taking center stage this week are the 2026 Actor Awards, formally known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The Actor Awards celebrate "outstanding motion picture and television performances from the previous calendar year," and "are the only top industry honors where actors vote on actors, selected entirely by SAG-AFTRA members, which boasts over 118,000 eligible voters," according to organizers.
The annual ceremony is an important bellwether for the upcoming Academy Awards on March 15, since actors comprise the largest voting body in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. There's often carryover between acting categories: Last year, Oscars and SAG matched four out of five nominees in best actor, best actress and supporting actor, as well as three out of five in supporting actress.

Let the countdown to the Actor Awards begin! Ahead of the 32nd annual show on Netflix (8 p.m. ET/ 5 PT), here are the 75 best dresses throughout the years, starting with Sofia Carson in 2025, wearing a stunning salmon Elie Saab couture frock that evokes Old Hollywood glamour.
Leading the nominations this year with a record seven nods is Paul Thomas Anderson's acclaimed action dramedy "One Battle After Another"; followed by "Sinners," which received five nods; and "Hamnet" and "Marty Supreme," which nabbed three each.
"One Battle" is in the running for best ensemble (SAG's equivalent of the Oscars' best picture) alongside "Sinners," "Hamnet," "Marty Supreme" and "Frankenstein."
Among the TV categories, Apple's "The Studio" led all shows with five nominations – including best comedy ensemble – while the Netflix limited series "Adolescence" and HBO drama "The White Lotus" each scored four total.
In addition to the competitive categories, Harrison Ford will be honored with the 61st SAG-AFTRA life achievement award, following recent honorees Jane Fonda, Barbra Streisand, Sally Field, Helen Mirren and Robert De Niro.

What time are the 2026 Actor Awards?
The 32nd annual Actor Awards are scheduled to commence at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Sunday, March 1. With 15 awards, the ceremony is usually about two hours long.
The show will be preceded by the red carpet, which is expected to roll out starting 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.

2026 Actor Awards red carpet
The Actor Awards pre-show titled "The Actor’s Red Carpet" will stream live on Netflix on Sunday, March 1, at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
Author and Bravo breakout star Paige DeSorbo and media entrepreneur Scott Evans will host the red carpet for Netflix.
"The official pre-show will feature DeSorbo and Evans interviewing nominees and presenters, highlighting the evening’s standout fashion and offering viewers a front-row look at the red carpet on the biggest night for actors," a news release said.
E! will also be live from the red carpet starting 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT with Justin Sylvester, Keltie Knight and Erin Lim Rhodes hosting.

Kristen Bell will be hosting the 2026 Actor Awards. It's Bell's third time hosting, though during her previous gigs, the awards were still known as SAG Awards. This will be her first under the show's new name.
Bell, 45, told USA TODAY she loves the experience of hosting an event.
"I had a freaking blast last year as host," Bell said. "I like entertaining and hosting things, where I get to be a goofball in my own little show constructed around this prized award honor."

Her big challenge this year, however, will be to avoid accidentally referring to the ceremony as the SAG Awards.
"Renaming it is a big thing to apply to the old processor," says Bell. "There's been a lot of slip-ups. But we politely correct each other when I say the SAG Awards. Nope, it's now called the Actor Awards."

Who's presenting at the 2026 Actor Awards?
Organizers have not yet announced presenters for this year’s award ceremony.
However, "Bridgerton" Season 4 breakout star Yerin Ha will serve as this year's ambassador, giving fans an “exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the awards ceremony" and "raise awareness for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation," according to a news release.
