You know everything, Jon Snow.

*Game of Thrones* alum Kit Harington is finally opening up about the fan petition signed by two million people to remake the final season of HBO's fantasy series "with competent writers." And it's an understatement to say that the actor was not pleased to hear about it.

"That genuinely angered me," Harington said in a new interview with the *New York Times*. "Like, how dare you? Sorry, that's just how I feel."

The *Game of Thrones* star added that he knew how hard the show's writers, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, had worked to make the final season, especially since the show had outpaced author George R.R. Martin's *A Song of Ice and Fire* novels (the series still remains unfinished). That's why he was so upset when he found out that two million people had signed the unofficial Change.org petition asking for a redo of the final season.

"I think it was a level of idiocy that can only come about through social media," Harington said.

The final season of *Game of Thrones* aired while Harington was in rehab for alcohol addiction and stress, and when he returned, he was shocked by the negative backlash from viewers.

"I went in and everyone loved *Thrones*; I came out and everyone hated it," Harington previously said in April 2024. "I think if there was any fault with the end of *Thrones*, is that we were all so f---ing tired, we couldn't have gone on longer. And so I understand some people thought it was rushed and I might agree with them. But I'm not sure there was any alternative. I look at pictures of me in that final season and I look exhausted. I look spent. I didn't have another season in me."

Harington previously told ** that his proposed *GOT* sequel series about his character Jon Snow had been put on the shelf.

"It's not happening — and not happening anytime soon anyway," the actor said earlier that month. "We bounced some ideas around and nothing really lit us up. It just didn't. I think we don't want to do something that's not worth it. So for the time being, we're just shelving it."

Harington added that he previously had high hopes for the sequel spinoff.

"I would never have said yes to the idea of developing something with Jon Snow if I didn't think there was something interesting there, and there could have been," he said. "But HBO cares about the character a lot and I care about the character a lot, and we don't want to put out something that is going to sully the character. That's the worst thing that we could possibly do. So unless we find something in the future that really lands, there's no point in rushing it. There's no point in keeping developing for development's sake and doing something that I don't want to do."

And yet, what is dead may never die. The *Game of Thrones* franchise still continues, even without Jon Snow. Prequel series *House of the Dragon* will return for season 3, and new series *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms* debuts Jan. 18 on HBO.**
