Jena Sims Takes Us Inside Her Glam Routine Ahead of PEOPLE x InStyle’s Miami F1 Pit-Stop Party (Exclusive)

Jena Sims brought her sizzling style to F1 weekend.

The model and actress documented her getting-ready process ahead of PEOPLE x InStyle’s F1 Pit-Stop Party at Pao by Paul Qui at the Faena Hotel Miami Beach in Florida on May 2, sharing a look at her outfit, glam, and time with family before heading out for the evening.

Sims prepped for the event alongside her glam team—hair stylist Mario Osorno, makeup artist Allison Kaye and stylist Emily Bess—while also spending time with her 2-year-old son Crew, whom she shares with husband, pro golfer Brooks Koepka. Sims tells PEOPLE he was nearby to help her keep things grounded amid the busy weekend.

“I love F1 style because it’s one of the few sporting events where you can wear heels,” she says. “Coming from the golf world, that’s just not an option for me, so I really went for it. I clocked 7,000 steps in five-inch Louboutin’s yesterday for qualifying. Brooks had my Uggs waiting for me when I got home! The style is such a mix of European fashion, it’s sexy, but with a dash of masculine edge.”

For the party, Sims wore a black mini dress by Cong Tri paired with Jimmy Choo heels, a Stella McCartney bag and diamonds by Stephanie Gottlieb.

“When I’m dressing for a multi-day event with parties, I like to stick to a theme. It’s kind of become an inside joke between my stylist, Emily, and me,” she says. “This year, I wore only black and white, and each look was a subtle nod to the Grand Prix. Tonight’s look has what I’ll call racing stripes all over it—it’s understated, but still my personal wink to the weekend.”

As the team wrapped up glam, Sims shared a recent fashion purchase that made its way into her F1 weekend wardrobe.

“The last fashion splurge I made was at Hermès. I bought these incredible black leather shorts that I wore to qualifying,” she says. “I’m invested in the Hermès game, so hopefully those shorts put me one step closer to a Mini Kelly. They fit like they were custom-tailored, but they were off the rack. You really can’t beat Hermès leather.”

Sims also highlighted one of her favorite WAG style standouts from the F1 scene.

“The best-dressed F1 WAG, aside from Kim [Kardashian], is Alexandra Leclerc. Her looks are intentional but never overdone,” Sims tells PEOPLE. “She isn’t afraid of color, which I love. She somehow looks chic even just walking her dog, which is not easy to pull off.”

After final touches, Sims headed out for the evening’s celebration, completing a getting-ready process that blended fashion, family time and the energy of a Grand Prix weekend.
