It appears that Jeremiyah Love will miss his first game of the season.
Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love might be on his way to missing his first game this season. Dealing with an ankle injury, he did not practice for the second day in a row on Thursday.
With two DNPs, it is becoming far less likely that Love will be able to play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
He suffered a high ankle sprain in the preseason and recovered in time to play in Week 1, but that is not the ankle that is bothering him, and, per head coach Mike LaFleur, that ankle is perfectly recovered. It was his other ankle he tweaked at some point, and it has been lingering. The team has called his practice use and treatment in games as "maintenance" and "management," but it finally looks like he is going to miss time.
A recent roster move suggests Love won't be able to play at least this week.

They signed Jerome Ford to the practice squad. Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight are the only other running backs on the active roster and Evan Hull was on the practice squad. Signing Ford suggests that the Cardinals knew that Love wouldn't get any practice reps this week.
The question between now and Saturday, when the Cardinals will announce final roster moves for their game on Sunday, is whether or not Love will get placed on injured reserve. We can likely expect, at minimum, that Hull will be elevated to the active roster to play, with Allgeier and Knight handling the offensive load against the Rams.
