- *Marshals *is a *Yellowstone* spinoff following Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) as he starts a new chapter as a U.S. Marshal.

- *Yellowstone *alums Gil Birmingham, Brecken Merrill, and Mo Brings Plenty will reprise their roles.

- The show premieres March 1 on CBS and Paramount+.

*Marshals *is taking the *Yellowstone *franchise into new territory.

Set a year after the *Yellowstone *finale, the action-heavy CBS procedural finds Luke Grimes' Kayce Dutton, a former Navy SEAL, taking up a new career as a U.S. Marshal.

Grimes isn't the only *Yellowstone *vet on *Marshals — *Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, and Brecken Merrill are also along for the ride. Joining them is an ensemble of fresh faces that includes Logan Marshall-Green and Arielle Kebbel, among others.

For all the details, check out **'s *Marshals* cast and character guide.

Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton

Luke Grimes made his screen debut 20 years ago with a supporting role in the 2006 slasher *All the Boys Love Mandy Lane*. He became a household name, however, after being cast as Kayce Dutton, the youngest Dutton sibling, on *Yellowstone *(2018–2024).

Other notable roles include Navy SEAL Marc Lee in *American Sniper *(2014), Christian Grey's older brother in the *Fifty Shades *saga (2015–2018), and the bumbling Deputy Guy in Ari Aster's *Eddington *(2025).

On *Marshals*, Grimes again steps into the boots of Kayce, now a U.S. Marshal. *Marshals* showrunner Spencer Hudnut told EW last year that Kayce is a "changed man," noting that the time between *Yellowstone *and *Marshals *"has forced him to confront some of his demons and really focus on being a father."

Logan Marshall-Green cut his teeth on episodes of *24* and *The O.C. *before leading acclaimed genre flicks like Karyn Kusama's *The Invitation* (2015) and Leigh Whannel's *Upgrade* (2018). In recent years, he's found success on series like *Big Sky* (2021–2022) and *And Just Like That* (2025).

Later this year, you can see him among the A-list ensemble of Christopher Nolan's *The Odyssey. *

'Marshals' boss talks likelihood of 'Dutton Ranch' crossover

Luke Grimes is 'changing paths' in first look at 'Yellowstone' spinoff 'Y: Marshals' (exclusive)

The actor joins *Marshals *as Pete Calvin, the former leader of Kayce's SEAL Team unit who recruits him to the U.S. Marshals.

Marshall-Green said in EW's February 2026 cover story that he was drawn to *Marshals *because of his interest in "the soldier's story, especially the vet and what they go through." He added, "More than anything, what tipped the scales for me was the Indigenous stories that they were planning on telling."

Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner

Arielle Kebbel has racked up a long list of credits, from movies like *John Tucker Must Die *(2006) and *Fifty Shades Freed *(2018) to series such as *Gilmore Girls* (2003–2004) and *Ballers *(2015–2019). Fans of *The Vampire Diaries *will also recognize her as amiable bloodsucker Lexi Branson.

Kebbel joins *Marshals* as Belle Skinner, an ATF agent described as "Martha Stewart in cowboy boots."

The actress told EW she's dreamed of joining the ever-expanding TV universe of *Yellowstone* creator Taylor Sheridan. "It's the first job I've ever had where so many friends and colleagues have texted me or said to me, 'You manifested this,'" she said.

Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz

Ash Santos is new to the *Yellowstone *universe, but previously worked with Sheridan on seasons 2 and 3 of *Mayor of Kingstown*. You may also know her from *American Horror Story: Apocalypse* (2018) and the Netflix medical drama *Pulse* (2025).

On *Marshals*, Santos stars as Andrea Cruz, a Bronx-born U.S. Marshal sent to Montana after upsetting the wrong person at her previous job.

Ahead of the premiere, Kebbel told *TV Insider* that the two ladies "don't see eye to eye" at first. As the season unfolds, however, "they learn to care for one another."

Tatanka Means as Miles Kittle

Over the past few years, Tatanka Means worked with Martin Scorsese on the Oscar-nominated *Killers of the Flower Moon* (2023) and appeared in *Horizon: An American Saga* (2024), directed by *Yellowstone* star Kevin Coster.

On the small-screen, you can catch him in episodes of *FBI: Most Wanted* (2020), *Reservation Dogs* (2022), and *Outer Range* (2024).

Here, Means plays Miles “Dust Cloud” Kittle, a former Broken Rock reservation police officer who, according to Hudnut, "got tired of busting his own people and felt he'd be better served protecting them as a Marshal."**

Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater

Veteran actor Gil Birmingham is best known for his role as Billy Black in the *Twilight *saga (2008–2012) and his work with Sheridan, which includes both *Yellowstone* and the writer-director's 2017 film *Wind River*.

On *Marshals*, Birmingham returns to his role as Thomas Rainwater, a powerful casino owner who leads the Broken Rock Reservation. On his dynamic with Kayce, Birmingham told EW, "Rainwater provides a real anchor for Kayce. Somebody he can trust, somebody that he loves."

He also addressed the show's emphasis on Montana's indigenous population. "We get into some subject matter that is very realistic and [features] present-day challenges for the res," he said. "We're going to address real-life things — mining companies trying to come along, drug cartels. Rainwater has a lot more on his plate than what was in *Yellowstone*."

Mo Brings Plenty as Mo

Mo Brings Plenty appeared on episodes of *House of Cards *and *Hell on Wheels *before joining *Yellowstone* as Rainwater's right-hand man Mo, a role he played for all five seasons of the drama.

You can also catch him on Showtime's *The Good Lord Bird* (2020), *Jurassic World: Dominion* (2022), and *Lawmen: Bass Reeves *(2023), which Sheridan executive produced.

He also worked behind the scenes as *Yellowstone*'s Native affairs coordinator and the American Indian affairs coordinator on its prequel series, *1923.*

Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton

In addition to playing Kayce's son, Tate Dutton, on *Yellowstone*, Brecken Merrill appeared on NBC's *This Is Us* as the son of Justin Hartley's Kevin Pearson.

Merrill will reprise his role as Kayce's moody teenage son. "I missed filming a lot, so when I got the email that they're working on a spinoff, I jumped for joy," Merrill told EW. "I was all in immediately."
