Royal expert Tom Sykes reported to Radar Online that the Sussexes grew close to Wace while they were still working members of the Royal Family. He said a frightening incident during a private flight brought the three of them closer.

Wace founded a hedge fund and reportedly maintains a friendship with King Charles III. He has also supported causes associated with the monarch, making his reported connection with Charles’ estranged younger son particularly noteworthy. Despite his ties to the royal family, reports have linked Wace to claims surrounding Harry and Meghan. Reports say the couple is staying at Rowler Manor, his country estate in Northamptonshire.

On the October 12 episode of “The Royalist” podcast, Sykes discussed the connection. He said a reliable source had shared details about how the friendship began. Sykes described the incident as a frightening experience on a private jet that reportedly changed the relationship between the Sussexes and the billionaire.

Harry and Meghan reportedly traveled to Amsterdam aboard billionaire Wace’s Dassault Falcon 7X private jet in September 2018. Wace’s then-wife, model Saffron Aldridge, also joined them for the trip. The group attended a lavish party at the newly opened Soho House to celebrate the birthday of its founder, Nick Jones.

However, royal expert Sykes claimed that a frightening mid-air incident during the Amsterdam trip brought the group closer. He said the plane suffered no damage, but the experience terrified everyone on board and turned their acquaintance into a close friendship. The aircraft landed safely in the Netherlands but reportedly remained grounded for a week as a precaution. Harry, Meghan, Wace and Aldridge later returned to England on a different private jet.
