Meghan Markle revealed Princess Lilibet shares a love for the same hobby as her cousin, Princess Charlotte

During an engagement in Nottingham, England, the Duchess of Sussex shared that her 5-year-old daughter “loves” gymnastics

Princess Charlotte has also revealed her love of the sport through the years

Meghan Markle just shared one of Princess Lilibet’s favorite activities.

Meghan— who shares 5-year-old Lilibet and 7-year-old Prince Archie with her husband, Prince Harry — revealed their daughter loves gymnastics as she spoke with children during their joint outing in Nottingham, England, on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Harry and Meghan visited Community Recording Studio (CRS) — a charity established in 1991 to give young people access to music and recording facilities — arriving to cheers from the crowd at 10:35 a.m. local time, before stopping to greet well-wishers.

Harry then had a private meeting with executives to hear about how his previous $1.5 million donation to BBC Children in Need, announced last year during his visit to Nottingham, was helping to support CRS’s capacity and redevelopment, among other things.

Meanwhile, Meghan took part in a confidence-building workshop, meeting youngsters from a local school who were craft-making.

The Duchess went from table to table, as children between the ages of 10 and 11 made friendship bracelets and spoke about the things that made them happy.

When asked, “When do you feel most yourselves?” one child said it was when they were doing hobbies such as gymnastics and crafting.

Meghan responded, “My daughter’s doing gymnastics right now. She loves it.”

She also told one child, “Sometimes you have to remember to be kind to yourself. And remember to talk to ourselves as we talk to our best friends,” as well as giving each child seated around the three tables a handwritten card with an inspirational paragraph to take home.

Georgia Devon-Shelley, who hosted the session, said of Meghan, “She was really engaging and incredibly kind and genuine. With anyone she met, even briefly in passing, she remembered their names.”

“They both gave everyone time and energy. This session was about building confidence, and that was certainly achieved,” she added.

Meghan and Prince Harry attended multiple charity outings on Thursday in Nottingham, which is a city close to their hearts, as it was in Nottingham that the couple made their first joint outing after announcing their engagement in November 2017.

Harry and Meghan visited the city on Dec. 1, 2017, just four days after sharing their engagement news with the world. The trip marked Meghan’s first time accompanying Harry on an official royal outing, and Thursday marked the couple’s first joint outing since moving to the U.K. nearly two months ago.

Meghan’s comments about Lilibet’s love for gymnastics came after Prince William said that his and Kate Middleton’s 11-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, also enjoyed the sport.

The Prince of Wales made the comments as the family attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in August.

As well as taking in some of the sporting contests, including track cycling and netball, the family also spent time with Team Wales at the Wales House, where they met gymnasts Abigail and Emily Roper, sisters who had both won bronze medals at the competition earlier in the week.

The Telegraph reported that, during their chat, William remarked that Charlotte “loves gymnastics and ballet,” while Princess Kate pointed out that her youngest, Prince Louis, 8, was also working on his own acrobatic skills.

“Louis, you’re perfecting your handstand at the moment,” she shared.

“A bit,” he agreed at the time. “But Charlotte says I’m not very good.”

Four years prior, Charlotte’s love of gymnastics had also been revealed as she joined her parents to attend the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

During the outing, the trio headed to SportsAid House. Kate has been a patron of the youth sports charity since 2013.

Tim Lawler, the chief executive of SportsAid, said of Charlotte revealing her favorite sport at the time, “She really, really loved seeing the swimming, but she’s interested in the gymnastics, and while they’re trying lots of different sports at home, I understand, when I asked her about sport she answered very easily and said, ‘It’s gymnastics that I like,’ “ according to Hello! magazine.

Kate added, “Charlotte spends most of her time upside-down, doing handstands and cartwheels,” per the Daily Mail.
