Michael Douglas is pulling back the curtain on his longtime Spanish estate that he shares with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The Wall Street actor, 82, detailed his current living situation and explained how he and Zeta-Jones, 57, split their time between their homes in New York City and the island of Mallorca during a ā€œHouse Callā€ interview with the Wall Street Journal, published Tuesday, Oct. 13.

ā€œOur Mallorca house dates to 1867 and sits on 190 acres,ā€ Douglas said, noting that the home directly overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. ā€œWe love being surrounded by nature and our serene view and privacy.ā€

He also shed some light on some of his home’s amenities, including his ā€œfavoriteā€ fuchsia armchair situated ā€œnext to an open window facing the sea.ā€ He also has a ā€œTrackman video setup in the wine cellarā€ that doubles as a golf simulator and a home theater.

According to Architectural Digest, Douglas purchased the property with his first wife, Diandra Luker, in 1990 for $3.5 million.

In a 2021 interview with Mallorca news outlet Ultima Hora, Douglas opened up about the ā€œuncomfortableā€ period of sharing S’Estaca with his ex Luker after their divorce.

ā€œIt was very uncomfortable to share the house of S’Estaca with my ex-wife, Diandra,ā€ he said at the time. ā€œSix months each was not a pleasant thing for anyone.ā€

The actor attempted to sell the estate, dubbed S’Estaca, for $60 million in 2014, and after years of the property being on the market, he decided to narrate a marketing video for the home in 2019.

ā€œMy life has taken a new course,ā€ Douglas said in the video at the time, per AD. ā€œAnd now it’s time for me to let someone else enjoy the privilege and adventure of owning S’Estaca.ā€

However, once he and Zeta-Jones gained full ownership of the property, the pair were excited to hold onto the home and enjoy it with their two children: son Dylan, 26, and daughter Carys, 23. Douglas also shares son Cameron, 47, with Luker.

AD previously reported that the estate consisted of five apartments and two cottages, as well as a library, game room, outdoor kitchen and heated pool. A number of A-listers have reportedly stayed at the stunning property, including Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer and Jack Nicholson.

While speaking to Spanish news station IB3 at the Atlantida Mallorca Film Festival in 2024, where he was honored with the Master of Cinema award by Queen Letizia, Douglas explained how Mallorca is his ā€œsecond homeā€ years after deciding to keep his Mediterranean estate.

ā€œMallorca is my second home. I’ve been here for 35 years, and to receive this honor from the Queen is muy especial,ā€ he said.

Later in August 2025, Zeta-Jones opened up about her and her husband splitting their time between multiple locations in an interview with The Sunday Times, during which she revealed they owned four homes at the time: one in Canada, one in Spain and two in New York.

ā€œI know it sounds very jet set, and I love to surround myself with beauty, but it’s not excessive — it’s very comfortable,ā€ the Wednesday star previously said.
