Prince Harry’s lawsuit against The Daily Mail has been ruled against him. Amid the conclusion of the high-profile lawsuit, a journalist for the outlet has written an exclusive piece, sharing insights about her friendship with the Duke of Sussex.

She recalled that during a shooting weekend at a country estate, they were invited to the estate in Hampshire, where she met a young Prince Harry. Since the two were complete strangers back then, he decided to make things interesting with a drug prank on her.

The internet was not pleased with his prank on the female journalist, which he called a test of her loyalty. They bombarded him with criticism and shamed him for his ‘bully mindset.’

‘Now I Know I Can Trust You’

According to an exclusive report by The Daily Mail, Charlotte Griffiths, a reporter for the outlet, shared a new detail about her friendship with Prince Harry. She shared the instance from 2011, when the Duke was third in line to the throne, behind King Charles and Prince William.

The journalist reported that she learned that she would be seated next to a young Prince Harry at dinner. Griffiths stated, “Harry was doubtless wary about being introduced to an H&M-clad stranger; he decided to kick-start our relationship by subjecting me to a little test.”

She continued that he pulled out a “small white pill” from his pocket, brought it near her face and placed it on her tongue. He smiled and said, “Now I know I can trust you.” She said she discreetly removed the pill from her mouth and wrapped it in a napkin.

Although the reporter said she was unsure what the pill was, she believed that it was a harmless “paracetamol” rather than “something more sinister.” She added, “But I couldn’t be entirely sure.” Charlotte Griffiths remarked that the Duke’s well-known sense of humor and record of public service made him a great PR asset for the Crown.

At the same time, she pondered over a glaring question: “Had a senior royal just attempted to give me a Class-A drug?” The alleged incident has added fuel to the fire amid his U.K. return, as Buckingham Palace did not permit his stay in a last-minute change, according to Naughty But Nice.

Netizens Call Prince Harry’s Prank ‘Predatory’

Although Prince Harry is a popular public figure, he remains under scrutiny for his sour relationship with his family and alleged attempts to get back into the family’s good books. As the recent pill accusation came to light, even his ardent fans couldn’t defend him. Some social media users even compared him to disgraced royal, ex-Prince Andrew.

A user wrote, “What do you mean fake? It was an unidentified white pill. It could have been anything. No one of sound mind puts a pill in a young woman’s mouth let alone does it as a trust test. That is some date r— predatory [expletive].” A third user tweeted, “3rd in line to the throne, a known drug user placed a small white pill in a young woman’s mouth. An act to ‘prove’ loyalty and to control.”

Another user remarked, “People, we need to keep this story alive. He needs to be investigated and prosecuted. He’s no different from Andrew.” Another user added, “It wasn’t “fake”. He slipped a white pill in her mouth without consent to “test” her. That is predatory behavior and a lot of people fall victims to date r-pe. It is not okay. DO NOT MINIMIZE PREDATORY BEHAVIOR!”

A user criticized, “That’s unhinged. He is not right.” Another user pointed out, “It was an unidentified white pill he put in her mouth. It wasn’t a fake pill…”
