Prince Harry is expected to bring his children, Archie and Lilibet, to pay respects at Diana's grave during their inaugural trip to the UK.

Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to travel to the UK shortly, representing their first joint return to the prince's homeland in four years. The pair are expected to arrive in Britain with their two young children in July to attend a ceremony marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, scheduled for Birmingham.

During their stay in the UK, reports suggest Harry will escort Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, to Althorp House for a poignant visit to his late mother's final resting place, just days following what would have marked Diana's 65th birthday.

Diana was laid to rest on an island at her family's Althorp House estate in West Northamptonshire, an area closed to public access. Harry was merely 12 years old when his mother, then 36, perished following a tragic accident in Paris in 1997.

The prince has made multiple visits to his mother's grave since her passing, and he brought Meghan there in 2022. The two young children have not yet visited their grandmother's grave but are expected to do so during this journey, according to The Sun.

The couple is scheduled to travel to Birmingham and London for Invictus events taking place between July 6 and 10, with the Althorp Estate reportedly closed to the public on July 10 and 11, according to the estate's website.

The late Princess of Wales' birthday falls on July 1, making this a meaningful time for Harry and his children to visit roughly a week following that significant date.

Althorp is the property of Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer, and the prince has stayed at the estate during UK visits, most recently in 2024, when he attended the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes.

Harry also documented in his autobiography Spare that he brought his wife, Meghan, to visit Diana's grave in 2022, 25 years after her death.

He wrote, "No visit to this place was ever easy, but this one... 25th anniversary and Meg's first time. At long last, I was bringing the girl of my dreams home to meet mum."

Prior to the family's UK trip, sources have indicated King Charles has extended an invitation for Harry, Meghan and their children to stay in royal lodgings.

It is understood that for security purposes, Harry has accepted the invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace, The Mirror previously reported.

Reports suggest that Harry, along with his wife and children, is expected to meet with King Charles during their visit.

A royal source said, "Any meeting between Harry and Meghan and the King would represent a huge thawing of relations. Despite everything that has occurred in recent years, the King loves his son and daughter-in-law dearly and would relish the chance to see his grandchildren."
