Russell Wilson is a quarterback with options!The former New York Giants signal-caller, 37, is mulling retirement and a future in broadcasting, and has had “lengthy talks” with The NFL Today, the Sunday pregame show on CBS, sources told The Athletic.If things progress with the network, the 10-time Pro Bowler would step into the shoes of Matt Ryan, who left the show — which features James Brown and analysts Nate Burleson and Bill Cowher — to become president of football for the Atlanta Falcons.Buzz about Wilson's future has been building this week after it was reported he took a visit with the New York Jets about potentially serving as the team's backup quarterback to Geno Smith.The one-time Super Bowl champ visited the Jets on Monday, April 27, as the franchise looks to add to its quarterback room after landing Smith in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders in March.The potential signing would tie a bow on the quarterbacks’ careers, with Smith backing up Wilson in Seattle during the 2020 season with the Seahawks.
Smith, 35, was said to be “excited” about the prospect of having Wilson as a new teammate, per The Athletic.

He spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks before being traded to the Denver Broncos in 2022. Denver moved on from Wilson after the 2023 season and he started for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. The Giants signed Wilson to a one-year deal in 2025.
Wilson, drafted in the third round (75th overall) in 2012, led the Seahawks to two Super Bowls and helped the franchise win its first title at the end of the 2013 season.
