Warning: This post contains spoilers for the Landman season 2 finale.

T.L. (Sam Elliott) gets a dream-come-true night in the Landman season 2 finale

The stripper Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) hired as a physical therapist for T.L. spent the night in bed with him, leaving him feeling "better than I’ve felt in decades"

If Landman season 2 did anything, it changed T.L.'s life.

Sam Elliott joined the second season of the Taylor Sheridan drama as Tommy's (Billy Bob Thornton) grieving and estranged father, but in the Jan. 18th finale, the father and son are on far better terms than either of them could've expected.

Tommy hired a stripper to play physical therapist to T.L. earlier in the season, and Cheyenne (Francesca Xuereb) has really opened T.L.'s world — though Tommy is worried about just how much she's teaching him when he finds her in his kitchen one morning, dressed in just a crop top and underpants.

"Is there something you forgot to tell me about?" Tommy asked T.L. after Cheyenne's surprising morning appearance.

T.L. played coy at first, as he quipped that "nothing comes to mind," but Tommy wasn't having it. "How about a 5-foot-three blonde with an ass like a bread basket?" Tommy asked, making it clear who he was talking about, and T.L. revealed the stripper "spent the night."

"The battery died in her car and we needed jumper cables and a truck to jump it with," T.L. explained.

When Tommy questioned what else the pair got up to overnight, T.L. told him, "It's none of your f---ing business."

"Are you f---ing with me?" Tommy asked.

"Her car battery died, Tommy. We slept, that’s all we did," T.L. insisted — but really, it meant more to him than just that. "I got to hold a beautiful woman in my arms for the first time in 50 f---ing years, and I’ll tell you something, son, today I feel better than I’ve felt in decades."

"I would appreciate it if you would not f--- that feeling up for me,ā€ he told his son.

Tommy understood what his dad was experiencing. "When you snuggle up to a good one, it does have restorative effects."

"Good for the body, good for the soul, good for everything," T.L. declared, and Tommy replied, "Well, I think we finally found something we agree on 100%."

As Elliott, 81, told PEOPLE ahead of season 2's premiere, T.L.'s arrival in season 2 brings "healing" for Tommy.

"It's been a real gift for me," he said of joining the series, his first role since he starred in Sheridan's 1883 in 2021. "Having an opportunity to work with Billy again — we've only worked, briefly, a couple of times — and this time, we're in deep, and it's just a treat to go to work and be with him."

"I've loved him afar for a long time, and now I get to love him up close," he said of Thornton, 70. "It's special."
