Sara Foster revealed that Cindy Crawford set her up on a date with George Clooney “like 30 years ago”
She said the double date with Crawford and her now-husband, Rande Gerber, was “depressing"
“I just remember being like offended that they would set me up with him ‘cause he felt so old at the time,” she recalled, adding, “I don’t think he was that into it either”
Sparks didn’t fly between Sara Foster and George Clooney decades ago.
The 44-year-old actress revealed on the Jan. 15 episode of her The World's First Podcast with sister Erin Foster, 43, that she was once set up on a date with the the Jay Kelly star, 64, by Cindy Crawford, 59, and Rande Gerber, 63.
“Do you guys know that I got set up with George Clooney like 30 years ago and it was such a blah [date]? Sorry, had to say,” Sara shared on the podcast.

“So Rande and Cindy tried to set me up with him ... and we, like the four of us, all like met and I was [like], ‘No.’ It was just such a hard no,” she recalled.
Sara also shared why she reacted that way, saying that she remembered “just thinking, ‘Oh, he is so old.’ ” She added that was why she didn’t understand relationships with really large age gaps like a ”19-year-old that’s into a 40-year-old.” Though, she admitted “sometimes” the age gap “makes sense.”
However, in this case, it did not work out. Sara explained, “I just remember being like offended that they would set me up with him ‘cause he felt so old at the time.”

“I’m sure George Clooney is a nice guy, but I just remember it being the four of us, sitting there and thinking like, ‘I’m gonna die. I’m so sad over the other one and then there’s this one who just feels like a grandpa.’ And it was depressing,” she continued.
Erin joked that her sister would be “the only one on the planet” who would be bummed out by a date with Clooney — who she described as the “heartthrob of America.”
Sara noted that she also didn’t think Clooney asked to be set up either and got the idea that he wasn’t all too happy with the date either.
“I also think it wasn’t George being like, ‘Oh set me up with Sara Foster.’ I think it was more like Rande and Cindy being like, ‘We know someone great.’ Like I don’t think he was that into it either. But I showed up just like, I started crying about my ex to him,” she recalled.
“That’s fun,” Erin chirped, to which Sara replied, “Yeah, so I think he was like, ‘This chick’s not okay.’ ”

Sara would go on to date former tennis player Tommy Haas in 2006. The longtime couple welcomed two daughters, Valentina and Josephine, before calling it quits in 2024.
As for Clooney, he would go on to marry lawyer and philanthropist Amal Alamuddin in Italy in 2014, and the two welcomed twins Alexander and Ella three years later, in June 2017.
