Security camera footage from the Brooklyn shop at the center of controversy after Kelly Clarkson accused staff of mistreating her shows the moment things soured between the singer and the store's staff.

On October 10, the 44-year-old talk show host took to X to accuse the workers at Art of Play of refusing to sell her a mechanical singing bird permanently attached to the shop wall, known as Molly, comparing the interaction to a scene in the 1990 romantic comedy Pretty Woman in which Julia Roberts is refused service at an upscale boutique.

This comes after Kelly was slammed as 'tone-deaf' and 'entitled' after her viral spat with the Brooklyn store.

Journalist Pablo Torre, host of the podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out, obtained a copy of the footage from the alleged incident and shared it on his YouTube channel on Tuesday, October 13.

In the video, Kelly can be seen entering the busy establishment before inquiring about the mechanical bird. The singer was dressed in a yellow long-sleeve shirt, baggy blue jeans, a baseball cap, and a backpack. She can be seen browsing the store before speaking with the store employee.

The security footage, which did not feature any audio, shows Kelly pointing at the bird, seemingly asking about buying the one-of-a-kind art installation. The shopkeeper can be seen pointing at something near the bird and shaking his head.

Kelly then turns away as the employee points to another part of the store, though she is no longer looking in his direction. The worker then tends to another customer as she makes her way to the front of the store.

The singer appears agitated, clasping her hands and gesturing as she speaks with another employee behind the counter. She exits the front door as he gestures to the wall. The podcasters noted the body language of the other customers in the store, who appeared to react to the confrontation.

A third camera angle shows Kelly storm out of the store and immediately pull out her phone.

Shortly after the interaction, Kelly wrote on X, "Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn't afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me."

She continued, "Wow, dude. You're an idiot and just lost a huge sale. But y'all should go check out Art of Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman. For sure, check it out."
