Sixers' Labaron Philon Jr. teases uniform number in Instagram post

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Alabama star Labaron Philon Jr. with the No. 22 pick in the 2026 NBA draft with the expectation that he will be another dynamic guard on the offensive end. After averaging 22.0 points and 5.0 assists in his sophomore season in 2025-26, he will look to begin his NBA career the right way with the Sixers.

Philon is a player who can get to the paint at will while also displaying some huge improvements in his 3-point shot. He took 3.2 3-pointers per game as a freshman and shot 31.5% before then taking 6.4 3-pointers as a sophomore and shot 39.9%. That type of production will go a long way in the NBA.

As the rookie prepares for his maiden NBA season, Philon posted a picture on his Instagram story of what looked like his official jersey with the No. 00. He wore No. 0 in college, but he, of course, will be unable to wear that in Philadelphia due to Tyrese Maxey.

The Sixers now sport a dynamic group of guards led by Philon, Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe. It will be on coach Nick Nurse to figure out how to make everything work on the floor with the guards.
