The highly anticipated trailer for The Boys’ fifth and final season has arrived.
On Thursday, March 5, Prime Video dropped a look at the dramatic conclusion of the Emmy-winning series, as Homelander (Antony Starr)’s goal to take over the world leaves Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) desperate to stop him.
“In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims,” the official press release reads. “Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), and Frenchie (Tomer Capone) are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp.’ Annie (Erin Moriarty) struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it.”
“It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.”
The trailer, which also features cast members from the show’s spinoff Gen V — including Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau and London Thor as Jordan Li — sees the return of Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy, along with his former Supernatural co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins joining in unknown roles.
“My power is absolute at heights no one’s ever dreamed of, but I have a bigger destiny,” Homelander declares at the start of the preview.

It is then revealed that Homelander is looking to get his hands on “Vought’s first iteration of compound-V,” which would make him immortal.
When Butcher introduces the plan to use the virus to “kill every f---ing Supe on the planet,” chaos ensues.
Recruiting the help of his biological father, Soldier Boy, Homelander explains, “We need to prepare America for my ascension.”

Later, Soldier Boy comes face-to-face with Butcher, who is now a supe after taking compound-V.
“You’re one of us now,” Soldier Boy says, to which Butcher replies, “Well, if you can't beat ‘em, join ‘em.”
“Then f---ing beat ‘em,” he adds, picking up a car and throwing it.

With time running out, Hughie acknowledges, “This is our last chance. The only thing we have left is hope.”
Homelander, however, is not giving up.
“Those who seek to destroy me, the non-believers, the backstabbers. I offer oblivion,” he concludes.
