- Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is worried about his *Jersey Shore *costar Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.

- Ortiz-Magro seemed to be falling asleep during a cast interview.

- Sorrentino said that he has reached out to Ortiz-Magro but has not heard back yet.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is clearly alarmed by the situation with his *Jersey Shore* costar Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.

Ahead of the final season premiere of *Jersey Shore: Family Vacation*, the cast did a group interview on SiriusXM, and fans quickly noticed that Ortiz-Magro seemed to be out of it and nodding off. Sorrentino, who has been sober for over a decade, has now weighed in on his longtime roommate.

"I want to be clear that I am not responsible for the actions of any other cast member," he wrote on Instagram. "At the same time, my heart is heaving seeing what Ron, a grown adult, chose to present during press. This situation is still developing, and while I do not know the full extent of what he may be going through, I do know it is separate from my path."

Sorrentino added that he "will help where I can," including through the addiction and mental health treatment that he founded in New Jersey. "My heart is with anyone who is struggling," he said. "I worked hard to protect my sobriety for nearly 11 years, and I honor that every day while continuing to show up with compassion for others."

Sorrentino and Ortiz-Magro broke out as reality stars in their 20s when *Jersey Shore *premiered in 2009 and became an instant pop culture phenomenon. Sorrentino developed a drug addiction during the show's initial run and was in and out of rehab many times, finally becoming sober in December 2015. Sorrentino later served eight months in prison in 2019 for tax evasion.

Having turned his life around, Sorrentino has tried to be a mentor of sorts for Ortiz-Magro on their *Jersey Shore* revival, *Family Vacation*, as the latter deals with his own troubles. Ortiz-Magro stepped away from the series in 2021 after a domestic violence arrest, and before coming back full-time, Ortiz-Magro would appear just with Sorrentino, who'd be keeping tabs on him and trying to help him get back on track and to a place where the rest of the cast would accept him rejoining the show.

"I reached out to check in and offer my support, and I am still waiting to hear back," Sorrentino said on Friday. "If he is willing, I will be there for him."

*Family Vacation* returns for its ninth and final season on May 7, but the stars insist that this is only the end of the road on MTV, and they plan to continue the show.
