VisionQuest trailer teases ex-Avenger's reunion with Ultron

Marvel has released a brand new trailer for their upcoming miniseries, VisionQuest. The two-minute and four-second trailer gives viewers a closer look at Paul Bettany as Vision. Other cast members include Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff, James Spader as Ultron, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Orla Brady as Friday, T'Nia Miller as Jocasta, and Lauren Morais as Lisa Molinari.

Created by showrunner Terry Matalas, famous for Star Trek: Picard, 12 Monkeys, and Nikita, the Marvel series is scheduled to release on October 14 on Disney+. In the VisionQuest trailer, Vision, played by Paul Bettany, seems to be stuck in his own head.

The third and final chapter of the arc shows the story starting after WandaVision, with White Vision coming to terms with his reality. It seems that Vision has also constructed a sort of dream world like Wanda had in WandaVision. In this reality, Vision seems to meet Ultron, putting the rest of the cliffhanger at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

What does the trailer of VisionQuest reveal?

TheVisionQuest trailer starts with Vision visiting a home and seeing the W + V sign carved inside the heart (Wanda + Vision) as he says he was a different person back then. When asked what about now and if anyone's waiting for him tonight, it's just no, adding "home" is just him.

The next scene then shows Vision walking in the mansion, questioning his identity as he says, "Who am I?" adding that he was an Avenger. However, he clarifies that he is not a hero anymore. He further adds that he has his face but not his virtue, showing that he only carries his name at this point.

The trailer also shows Vision meeting Ultron, in his robotic form and as a human version played by Spader, and at one point as he gets warned not to keep him around. At this point, Vision seems to be in a deep identity crisis, as he doesn't feel the old memories the same way he used to. The trailer also includes lines like "I'm a stranger to myself" and "That family wasn't real," showing he is emotionally detached. The trailer also shows Ultron urging him to free them all and save his son. The trailer closes on the line: "nothing bonds a family together like a mortal jeopardy," a line said by Ultron.

The series seems to be Marvel's next big Disney+ series. However, as reported by Collider this month, the upcoming series could be one of Marvel's last big-budget new live-action Disney+ series, as the studio plans to reduce the number of live-action Disney+ series that follow.

VisionQuest will be released on October 14, 2026.
