Kristen Stewart opened up about why she is thinking about leaving the United States.
“I don’t want to leave. I like it here. But I will,” she said.
The actress previously said that she was thinking about moving to Europe.
Kristen Stewart has revealed that she has thought about potentially leaving the U.S. in the future. During her appearance on the “In Your Dreams” podcast, host Owen Thiele asked the Twilight actress about her “big dream.”
“If the midterms don’t start a Civil War, that’d be cool. I dream this,” Stewart said, before adding, “I don’t want to leave. I like it here. But I will.”

Thiele then asked if she would “seriously” move to Europe.
“It’s a privileged thing to say but even on a smaller scale, an escape hatch is totally f***ing necessary, for sure,” she replied.

This isn’t the first time Stewart, who now lives between New York and L.A., has opened up about her plan to potentially move out of America. Speaking to The Times in January, the actress and director explained that she will “probably not” stay in the country. “I can’t work freely there. But I don’t want to give up completely,” she said. “I’d like to make movies in Europe and then shove them down the throat of the American people.”

Stewart’s latest project is her wife’s feature film directorial debut, The Wrong Girls. Stewart married Dylan Meyer in April 2025.
“I actually shared it with her probably seven years before we ever reconnected and started dating,” Meyer told E! News of the film. “When I first met her, I always wanted Kristen to be in the movie.”
Stewart also had plenty of praise for her wife: “Dylan has this beautiful, delicate, gentle, inviting ability to be like, ‘This is yours.’ And so the crew was ready to jump into any hot or cold water for her. It was so much fun to make this movie.”
