A mother noticed that her neighbor across the street repeatedly her home decorations and landscaping
Over time, the imitation extended to clothing choices worn by both her and her daughter
The ongoing behavior left her feeling annoyed, confused, and unsure whether to confront the neighbor
Living next to other people usually means shared sidewalks and polite waves, but for one mother-daughter duo, it turned into a real-life game of “Who Wore It Better.”
“My daughter and I have been living in our house for over 4 years now with the same neighbor across the street,” one Reddit user wrote.
However, over time, she began to notice a pattern that felt impossible to ignore. “About 95% of the time that I do something to spruce up the place, the lady neighbor does the exact same thing,” she revealed.

"She rarely decorated when we first moved here, but that didn't last long," she continued. "The list is so lengthy that I can't name everything that she's . It is ridiculous."
She then listed examples, such as buying “a similar garden flag," using the "same vertical banner on our porch posts, same yard lights, same type of potted plants.”

Yet, the “ridiculous” behavior escalated when it came to trees and bushes. One day, after the poster was tending to her crabapple tree, her neighbor had “relatives come over to help her plant the exact same tree in her front yard.”
The neighbor also planted the same type of flowering bush, making the similarities impossible to dismiss.
What made the situation even more unsettling was that the imitation did not stop with the house but also extended into fashion choices.
The mother recalled how her daughter once wore “rose-colored pants, which is an uncommon color for pants,” only to see the neighbor wearing the same color of pants days later.
She noted that there have been several more times "that she has other outfits as well."
“I have a quilted jacket that I wear during the winter, then I notice that she's wearing the exact same type of jacket," she added as another example.
The ongoing pattern left the mother frustrated and confused. She speculated, “Honestly, it seems to me that she has very low self-esteem or she is jealous."
"Both of our houses are older, but hers is more upgraded than ours, so I don't understand why she would be jealous and continue this strange behavior," she continued. "We hardly ever talk to this lady, but I'm almost to the point of sending her a note to ask her nicely if she can come up with her own ideas."

She noted that the situation is "very annoying and upsetting because I dedicate a lot of time and effort into decorating throughout the year," turning to Reddit to ask for advice.
Still, many readers urged the original poster to “ignore” her neighbor completely. “Instead of being upset, be flattered,” one wrote. “Copying is a form of flattery."
Another explained: “She’s doing what we used to call in the 60s, ‘keeping up with the Joneses.’ ”
