Jewelry experts and designers predict the details of Zoë Kravitz's engagement ring from Harry Styles

This week, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the new couple got engaged after eight months of dating

Diamond enthusiasts believe that the ring could cost up to $600,000 and boast a large 10-carat diamond

Zoë Kravitz is ready to say "I do" with an outstanding piece of diamond jewelry on her ring finger.

This week, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the actress and director, 37, and Harry Styles, 32, got engaged after she was spotted with new bling on her hand during the couple's recent outing in London. They revealed that the couple shared their engagement news with "a small circle" and that the actress has been showing off her ring to friends.

The jewelry world is, of course, buzzing to know the details, but some of its finest pros and designers are revealing what they believe to be the particulars of Hollywood's new It ring.

Any diamond spurs questions about its carat size, which experts believe can be anywhere between five and 10 carats.

Laura Taylor, who specializes in engagement and wedding rings at Lorel Diamonds, thinks that Kravitz's stone — which she guesses is an elongated cushion-cut diamond set in yellow gold with a smooth bezel-style setting — is on the smaller size at about five or six carats, but its sparkle says it all.

"It appears to be very similar in size to the ring she previously wore from Channing Tatum [the now-exes were briefly engaged before splitting in October 2024], but with a slightly softer and less elongated shape, telling us that Zoë knows exactly what diamond proportions she loves on her hand," Taylor shared in a press release.

“Despite being a similar size, the diamond appears noticeably brighter than her previous engagement ring, which can often be a sign of a very well-cut stone. Excellent cut quality helps a diamond reflect more light, creating stronger sparkle and brilliance," she added.

Meanwhile, Lisa Ingram, vice president of merchandising at KAY Jewelers, shared that Kravitz's diamond, which in her eyes could be a radiant or cushion-cut stone, could weigh upwards of 10 carats, reflecting "the ongoing trend toward large center stones."

"From what we can see, the stone sits low in the basket for a sleek, modern profile. It is adorned with what appears to be a thin gold bezel. It's finished on a thin, minimalist yellow gold band," she added in a press release.

Over at Marrow Fine, the line's founder and creative director Jillian Sassone thinks Kravitz's ring boasts a "mega elongated cushion-cut diamond" that could weigh anywhere between seven and 10 carats and sits in a yellow gold bezel setting.

Most of the experts put a hefty price tag on the accessory, sharing that it could cost upwards of $600,000. Explained Ingram, "Assuming a natural diamond with strong grading across the 4Cs [meaning the cut, color, clarity, and carat], we'd estimate this ring to be in the $300,300-$500,000 range." If the ring is custom, that can also bump up its amount," Taylor added.

Sassone said the design reflects Kravitz's intentional, understated and effortless style, while Taylor shared that what appears to be the yellow color "feels like a deliberate choice too, as it adds warmth and character and sets the ring apart from the platinum solitaires we often see with celebrity engagements."
